Welcome to our website:
The „Seidlalm page“

We are happy to start a new chapter in the history book of the legendary “Seidlalm” in Kitzbühel… on a mountain, that owes its fame not only to the fact that Hansi Hinterseer grew up there, but also to its perfect location right at the most famous downhill ski racetrack in the world… and now we are allowed to run it!

THE SEIDLALM…

A very special spot – amidst the stunning scenery of Kitzbühel and one of the last traditional mountain huts in Kitzbühel…

A magnet for hikers, skiers, mountain bikers and mountain lovers of all kinds…a source of energy for humans and animals and a total “must see before you die”!

Stop by for a “Seidl” (a small beer), or two, or three.

We look forward to welcoming you here. And for now, you can keep on browsing this page a little…Enjoy!

Restoration and restaurant business

Well, of course you will be served food and drinks up here, but still we prefer terminology such as „Alm-Gasthaus“ (mountain tavern) oder „Berghütte“ (mountain hut), rather than restaurant. It just seems to fit better. And still, or maybe even because of it, we put great focus on the wellbeing of our guests. This is why there was lots of renovation and decoration work going on, to make the “old-timer” Seidlalm shine like new.

Where hares and pigs bid each other good night

The Seidlalm is not only a paradise for us, but also a feel-good place for our four-legged friends. This is why rabbits and small goats will call the shots in the adjoining stables in the future. In summer also Jersey cows, Haflinger horses, young goats, pigs and chickens are responsible for all the fun up here…

Food and Drink

Short and crisp

This is our motto, not only here on the webpage,
but also regarding our food and drinks and especially
their preparation: short transportation routes provide
for crisp freshness.

For that particular reason we get our products from our local partners.
For example the Schnaps from the nearby Schörgerer & Höck distillery.

Events

The perfect setting, not only for the Hahnenkamm race

…but for other events alike. Be it incentives or team events, birthday parties, baptisms, communions,
weddings, divorces, apocalypse or sunrise parties, Christmas parties or Easter brunches…

Traditional “Gemütlichkeit” and hospitality are paramount here – and all around you have the incredible flair of the world-famous Streif and the view over the roofs of Kitzbühel. Enjoy our beautiful sun terrace in summer and our unique aperitif location with open fireplaces in winter. Celebrating is fun this way! And thanks to Isabella’s many years of event experience, none of your wishes will remain unfulfilled – be it a traditional evening in the hut with accordion players and cithers or the ultimate techno party…

Team

A successful „Alm“ is run by three strong women…

Women who, at first glance, you would not necessarily expect to be on an “Alm” – young, pretty, sporty and focussed. And these traits are exactly what the “new” Seidlalm is trying to represent, entirely true to the motto “A new Seidlalm for a new generation”. And since all three of them are locals, the “Seidlalm” is a piece of home for them, which they feel very strongly about.

verena
Verena Thaler …

…”the Seidlalm hostess” with sense for her clients. She knows the finest wines in the cellar; she knows excellent cuisine and convinces with her warmth and charm. Instead of doing gymnastics in the morning, she cycles up the mountain for a quick swim in the Seidlalm lake before work.

christina
Christina Thaler …

Our farmwomen Christina has two very skilful hands. She cultivates the farm with all her heart and is the best animal mum one can wish for. For a change (and to train her muscles) she carries food and drinks through the Seidlalm now and then. And since no one has a chance of beating her in arm wrestling, she is also responsible for all craftsmen activities (loose screws and things like that…)

isabella
Isabella Kortschak …

…closely in touch with nature and in love with all animals, our event manager is not only an enthusiastic mountain athlete, but just as enthusiastic in pre-tasting food and drinks up here at the Seidlalm. Everything we serve first has to be approved by Isabella’s stomach.

A big fan of debit and credit balances, she organizes the bookkeeping around her touring skis. What is more, she also balances our customer’s event expectations so that everyone gets exactly what they wish for. And the best at last: finally she has found a good reason to learn how to yodel!

Brunhild, Mon Cherie, Blizzi & Co.

…will also be  part of the Seidlalm team this upcoming summer and are just some of the many animals at the Seidlalm (or down in the valley at Christina’s farm), that do their best to provide us with tasty milk.
